New HootSuite Features Offer More Insight About Your Customers
In a move certain to please small and medium business owners, social media management platform HootSuite announced today the addition of new features to help users learn more about their Twitter followers.
Using the influence scoring algorithm developed by Klout, HootSuite allows users to sort their followers by who has the most influence on Twitter, enabling companies and brands to better prioritize their Twitter conversations.

When viewing a list of followed users or replies on HootSuite, users can now filter them by their Klout Score - a zero to 100 ranking that estimates their degree of influence within Twitter based on a whole slew factors like number of active followers, links clicked and engagement with other users. A small slider on the right can be used to adjust the desired Klout Score, filtering out users as the score increases.
The same users can also be filtered by keyword, which can be helpful for sifting through a large network to find the most helpful tweets and pinpoint potential customers.
HootSuite has also added a new layer of information about each user, in addition to the standard Twitter bio that displays when their user name is clicked. A new tab labeled "Insight" shows the user's age, gender, additional profile images an/> [...]

How to make Tweets worth reading
Twitter is following Facebook in terms of user base and in sooner time it will stand against it with the huge user data base and following. Twitter is being used to make business prosper and campaigns successful, be they marketing or political movements. Didn’t you see how Freedom Flotilla had been carried out on the massive ground? This is how Twitter brings storm in the local as well as global world.
Millions of people are tweeting about their business, personal lives, meetings, events, breakups, interest, new offerings and what’s not. But if you want to take your business’ profile to the level where your brand could lead the whole industry, where your followers actually listen you, trust you and hold good will for your brand, you need to be very critical about what your share on Twitter and how you share. Your one sarcastic comment can piss off your most beneficial and profitable customer. So just be sure about these things. I have compiled them what you should do and what should not. Read below.
Your personal conversation must not be public
It’s common to post personal tweets, when you wake up, when you have lunch, when you go outside with your kids and friends and whatever you do in 8-12 time. That’s alright, but making deals or things which must not involve others, have to be done privately. It gives a very unprofessional impression of yours to the world. If there is some message for particular person, you must send him or her direct message but not tweet for heaven sake.
You are not alone, Talk to them
Twitter is a place for two way communication and not for self-talks. You will be look idiot, greedy and sarcastic, if you keep posting tweets about your business and don’t engage yourself in healthy conversation with Tweeples. It won’t only affect your PR thing, but also declare you as a boring-profile on the twitter world.

Google Proposes to Extend DNS Protocol, Optimize Speed of Browsing
Today, Google, along with a group of DNS and content providers, including Neustar/UltraDNS, published a proposal to extend the DNS (domain name server) protocol. DNS is the system that translates URLs for humans (e.g., ReadWriteWeb.com) into numeric IP addresses used by all computers for online communication.
To be perfectly explicit, Google is proposing "to allow Authoritative Nameservers to return varying replies based upon the network address of the client that initiated the query rather than of the client's Recursive Resolver." If that made no sense to you, read on for a plain-English discussion of the issue at hand and what it means for users.

Last month, when Google launched a public DNS service, they described DNS protocols simply, saying, "Most of us aren't familiar with DNS because it's often handled automatically by our Internet Service Provider (ISP), but it provides an essential function for the web. You could think of it as the switchboard of the Internet, converting easy-to-remember domain names - e.g., www.google.com - into the unique Internet Protocol (IP) numbers - e.g., 74.125.45.100 - that computers use to communicate with one another."
What Google's proposing is that enough information be sent during these machine/network communications to optimize browsing speed by creating connections with topologically close servers, but not so much information as to violate users' privacy. In other wor/> [...]

Analytics Should Be Your Best Friend
For a newcomer, stepping into the area of search engine marketing can be quite overwhelming especially if they haven’t really ventured into the online marketing space before. It is bad enough for those individuals to try and learn how to do many of the items themselves but to analyze the raw data and dissect it in order to understand how it is working for them could be a lengthy learning curve. There are many good analytics software packages out there, but I highly recommend Google analytics for most websites. It is easy to use, free and reliable.
Let’s take a look at some of the most important areas to view in your Google analytics account:
1. Visitors: In this section of your Google analytics software you can see a variety of information specific to your visitor. You can see what types of browsers people use to find you along with things like connection speeds and what kind of mobile devices people use when they are on the go to find your business. Often times a website or functions of a website will appear different in other browsers. This will give you a better understanding what elements you need to work on with your website to make sure things are consistent across the board.

2. Traffic Sources: This section will be your best friend. This is where it shows you what keywords are driving traffic along with which referring sites are bringing over traffic. You are going to want to look at this information on a regular basis in order to see what is going on with your marketing. If a website posted a link about you and it is delivering traffic to your website you are going to want to know this type of information. Once you get going with your online marketing and SEO this section of the analytics software is going t/> [...]
